Abstract
IN a previous communication1 a simple kinetic model for the incorporation of radioactive adenine into the purine bases of nuclear and cytoplasmic ribonucleic acid (RNA) of exponentially growing cells was proposed. This was used in the evaluation of kinetic data reported by Harris and Watts2. Harris3, in questioning the validity of the model, raised objections based on his interpretation of an equation derived from considerations of our model.
