Effect of Quinidine and Related Compounds on Uptake and Release of Serotonin by Blood Platelets

Abstract

BLOOD platelets have the ability both in vivo1 and in vitro2 to take up serotonin. It has been shown that in vitro this phenomenon may be depressed by certain drugs, such as imipramine3, chlorpromazine4, reserpine5,6 and the cardiac glycosides7.
