Abstract
IN the past two years many theories have been advanced for the explanation of the extraordinarily powerfully emitting cosmic energy sources known as quasistellar radio-sources, or quasars for short. Two particular theories have been brought out in an especially detailed form, namely, the gravitational collapse theory of Hoyle and Fowler1 and the spherical galaxy formation theory of Field2.
