Abstract
THE spontaneous mammary tumour of the C3H mouse has been shown to be resistant to the inhibitory action of testosterone in vivo when the tumour was well established1. Glenn et al.2, however, demonstrated that the rat mammary fibro-adenoma was inhibited by testosterone injected subcutaneously, and that this tumour may become resistant to the hormone. They suggested that the latter tumour was able to resist inhibition because it was able to metabolize testosterone, but no evidence has been submitted to support this claim.
