Effect of a Diet containing Sodium Deoxycholate on the Intestinal Mucosa of the Mouse

Abstract

THE life-span of the mucosal cell of the intestinal villi is short; reported values range from about 1 to 2 days depending on the region and the species examined1–5. Neither the reasons for the extremely short life-span nor the factors that influence the life-span are understood.
