THE strontium caprylate was prepared by metathesis from sodium caprylate and strontium chloride. The material crystallized from aqueous solution in the form of very small fragile plates. All the crystals examined were twins and all the X-ray photographs showed streaking of the spots, indicating some disorder in the long axis direction.
