Effect of Temperature on in vitro and in vivo Reactions of Diethyl Sulphate

Abstract

RECENT work1–3 has established that diethyl sulphate has characteristics which are of special interest to geneticists in many fields of research. These special characteristics include the induction of a high frequency of mutations accompanied by a high survival of the treated population and a low frequency of visible chromosome aberrations1. Similar properties have been found for ethyl methane sulphonate, a related alkylating compound4–6.
