Abstract
RECENTLY the ‘D-like’ antibody was demonstrated in the sera of guinea pigs injected with random Rh-positive, Rh-negative human red cells and the red cells of rhesus monkeys1. The ‘D-like’ antibody was produced also in guinea pigs injected with heat (50° C.) extracts of washed Rh-positive or Rh-negative red cells. Murray and Clark2 demonstrated that the antigenicity of heat extracts resided in the sediments obtained at 30,000g. These findings were confirmed and extended by Levine et al.1,3.
