Abstract
4-METHYLPROLINE1 and 4-hydroxymethylproline2 have been isolated from apples, and Burroughs3 has shown that these imino-acids occur in small amounts in other fruits of the family Rosaceae. We have now isolated large quantities of 4-methyleneproline from another rosaceous seed, namely loquat (Eriobotrya japonica).
