Abstract
AT the Third International Symposium on Microchemistry in Birmingham, Prof. F. Feigl reported on the combination of coloured spot reactions with the pyrolysis of high molecular weight substances for identification purposes1. I wish to point out some new possibilities of this type of analysis in the study of the constitution of non-volatile or poorly volatile substances, combining pyrolytic reactions with gas chromatography.
