Minimum Dose of Diethylstilbœstrol required to stimulate the Phagocytic Activity of the Reticulo-Endothelial System

Abstract

DIETHYLSTILBŒSTROL has been reported previously by Nicol et al. 1,2 to have a strong stimulative action on the phagocytic activity of the reticulo-endothelial system, and various steroids having high œstrogenicity have also been shown to have a similar action3. The present research was planned to determine the minimum dose of diethylstilbcestrol required to stimulate the reticulo-endothelial phagocytes and to ascertain its relationship to the œstrogenic potential of the substance.
