Isolation of the Stable Boron Trifluoride-ethylfluoride and Boron Trifluoride-formylfluoride Complexes of the Methylbenzenes: Mechanism of the Friedel–Crafts Reactions

Abstract

IN an earlier communication1 we have reported the isolation of the stable boron trifluoride–hydrogen fluoride complexes of the methylbenzenes and described the carbonium ion salt (or σ-complex) structure of these compounds.
