Abstract
Stewart and Bowen1 have recently reported that preparations of parathyroid hormone after treatment with formaldehyde lose their power to raise the serum calcium-level of dogs, while still remaining able to increase the excretion of urinary phosphate. In view of these results, we wish to report on the properties of certain extracts obtained from ox parathyroid glands by a different method.
