A recent article quoted palaeo-anthropologist Meave Leakey as arguing that the need for tighter restrictions on the export of human fossils had been highlighted by a request from the University of Chicago (see Nature 396, 504; 504 1998). The quotation should have referred to the Field Museum in Chicago.
