Abstract
CONTINUED absence of a hormone in the body induces overproduction of the corresponding pituitary ‘tropin’. This rule has been proved and applied diagnostically by demonstrating tropins in the urine of patients suffering from hypogonadism or hypothyroidism. It seems to hold true also for chronic adrenal cortex insufficiency.
