Abstract
IT has been pointed out1 that in the early stages of sea urchin development the amount of deoxynucleic acid per egg found by chemical methods is much in excess of what can be accounted for in the nuclei. Therefore most of the total deoxynucleic acid is likely to be in the cytoplasm.
