Abstract
WE have found that the compound isolated from dog's liver and previously considered to be a phosphotrihydroxyglutaric acid1 is instead the phosphate ester of a tricarboxylic acid. The data indicate that the compound is 2-phospho-4-hydroxy-4-carboxy-adipic acid. Since work had to be interrupted for external reasons, a preliminary report is being made at this time.
