Abstract
MUCH of the evidence produced by Prof. A. L. Hales is directed against the postulate of uniformity for the materials above the Mohorovioic Discontinuity. The conclusions are indisputable up to that point, and the only question is the extent to which different types of rock are collected into horizontal strata extending over continental distances.
