Abstract
DURING the last two years attempts have been made to review the work of Widmark1, Gemmill2, and Orton3 on the ciliation and mode of feeding in Aurelia aurita (Linné). The investigations have not been completed owing to the difficulty in obtaining healthy living material, which is essential for a study of this kind; but certain important features have been established and are worth recording in view of the apparently contradictory accounts in the literature.
