Abstract
WHEN stannous chloride is added to an acid solution containing molybdenum and an alkali thiocyanate an orange coloration appears. This reaction has been applied as the basis of methods for the determination of molybdenum in steels1,2,3, soils4, rocks5, and plant materials6.
