Abstract
A BAND spectrum of the many-line type has been obtained from a discharge through a mixture of rubidium vapour and hydrogen. The discharge tube with a constriction in the positive column which was originally designed for the production of the manganese hydride spectrum1 was found to be an intense and economical source ; the spectrum has been photographed on a 20-ft. concave grating spectro-graph with exposures ranging from 10 to 40 minutes.
