Abstract
IN the first of these two books the authors have collected an enormous mass of experimental data almost entirely from Russian sources on the properties of frozen soils. The scope of the work is perhaps rather over-optimistically enterprising, but it may surprise those who are unable to keep up with recent Russian soil work that so vast a range of experiments should have been attempted.
