Abstract
THIS is essentially another text-book on elementary statistical methods written to assist scientific workers with a limited mathematical background to gain an understanding of the nature and usefulness of tools they are finding it necessary to use. A special group of workers is aimed at, as is indicated by the title ; the plentiful illustrations are drawn from biological and botanical material and considerable space is given to the elementary algebraic description of the workings of Mendel's law and some of the simpler applications of the theory of probability to it.
