Abstract
IN spite of its comparative youth, the strides made by radiology since the discovery of X-rays and the demonstration of their properties by Röntgen in 1895, have been most spectacular. As a result the days when the X-ray department of a hospital was housed in an out of the way portion qf the basement have given way to a new era in which, from the diagnostic point of view, this department has become the keystone of the hospital.
