Abstract
At the Dominion Rust Research Laboratory, Winnipeg, the effect of ultra-violet light on the development of the rust organism has been studied by me. As a result of certain experiments, evidence was obtained that the pigment in the epispore of a normal urediniospore protected it from injury by ultra-violet light. The experiments in which this evidence was obtained were carried out in the laboratory, and the source of light was a mercury vapour sun lamp. These experiments were concluded and others were commenced out of doors, the source of light then being the sun.
