Whole genome microarray.
Blue bars along the idiogram represent tiled bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clones, each 100-150 kb with 50 kb overlapping between adjacent clones. Each of the approximately 32,000 spots on the sub-array, or "chip," represents a single BAC clone that, when combined, cover >99% of the euchromatic human genome. The BAC clones are mapped and annotated in public genome databases such as Ensembl and UCSC Genome Browser.
