The psychological causes and societal consequences of authoritarianism

Partisans’ receptivity to persuasive messaging is undiminished by countervailing party leader cues

In a study examining 24 US policy issues and 48 persuasive information treatments, the authors find no evidence that US partisans’ receptivity to persuasive information is diminished by countervailing cues from favoured party leaders.

Cross-national analysis of attitudes towards fossil fuel subsidy removal

Removing fossil fuel subsidy could reduce the CO₂ emissions and improve the use of government budget, while the feasibility is in doubt. This research demonstrates the public attitudes in developing countries are not worse than that for carbon tax, and better use of the public fund is preferred.
