Dysphagia
Dysphagia is the medical term for difficulty swallowing. There are three types of dysphagia: oropharyngeal dysphagia (abnormalities in the oral cavity, pharynx and upper oesophageal sphincter); oesophageal dysphagia (abnormalities in the oesophagus, lower oesophageal sphincter, or cardia of the stomach); and functional dyspepsia (no organic cause).
