Do women get interested in different topics in science history/science than men? With her book on the origin of HeLa cells, Rebecca Skloot highlighted issues surrounding how we deal with medical samples and informed consent. Isn't it interesting that these cells have been around for about half a century and it's a woman who finally decided to write about them from this perspective?
