And another nuclear energy site blow up !!!
Why am I not surprised ?
Today, I woke up feeling so depressed. I wanted something to cheer me up. So, I decided to surf the internet, maybe I encounter a happy event, a funny joke or a major discovery. Instead I read about an explosion in a nuclear waste site in France...Not funny at all !!!
What a day !!!
I really hope this time there will be no leak.
I think if you googled the words (Nuclear, 2011), you will not be bored !!!
This year has been a bad year for nuclear energy; 2011 decided to show the ugly face of it. Japan is still facing the consequences of the devastating earthquake that caused its Fukushima's nuclear plant to explode. The Japanese nuclear plant's leak made the authorities in Japan close a large sector of the country. This leak rendered this area incompatible with life.
I wonder ..do we need more evidence to prove that nuclear energy is not safe ?
But I guess if nuclear energy is still a reality in our lives, then we should be keen on using it safely. "International Conference on Research Reactors: Safe Management and Effective Utilization" will be held in Rabat in Morocco.
The nuclear energy situation in Africa is not that widely used. A study stated that only South Africa contains nuclear plants; to be exact South Africa has 2 nuclear plants out of 440 all over the world. This study expects that the nuclear energy will be more used in Africa in the near future.
I hope not !!!
Using an energy source that carries an enormous risk like the nuclear energy is not a safe and secure decision. Why don't we encourage our scientists to focus their research on solar energy, wind energy or any one of the renewable resources instead? Scientists can help us with a way to reduce the cost of these safer energy sources and also give us a high production yield. If the cost/effectiveness is our main concern with solar energy, scientists can solve this matter if they focused on it.
I think after what is happening in 2011 to some nuclear plants, we should pay attention to what our environment and planet is trying to say !!!
Can you calculate the benefits versus the consequences of using nuclear energy ?
Why play with the fire, I wonder ?

Very good theme, but I do not agree with the lack of expansion in the use of nuclear, where it has many benefits can not be obtained from wind or solar energy
Nice writing, Tawfik.
I enjoyed reading it. Keep posting.
