Metabolism in a eukaryotic cell: Glycolysis, the citric acid cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation
Glycolysis takes place in the cytoplasm. Within the mitochondrion, the citric acid cycle occurs in the mitochondrial matrix, and oxidative metabolism occurs at the internal folded mitochondrial membranes (cristae).
