The crystal structure of the nonstructural protein 5B from hepatitis C virus provides a detailed view of an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. The palm (red), fingers (blue) and thumb (green) subdomains are conserved across known polymerases. The fingers and thumb subdomains interact to encircle the active site, a conformation that has not been observed in other polymerase structures. See pages 937–943.
