After obtaining his DPhil, he continued this work as a postdoctoral researcher. Clemens joined Nature Reviews in 2014 and worked on Nature Reviews Urology until he became Acting Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology in 2018, returning to Nature Reviews Urology in 2019. In 2020, he became Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Disease Primers. Clemens primarily handles papers on oncology, urology, nephrology, gastroenterology, gynaecology and respiratory medicine.

Senior Editor | Louise Adams, PhD, Springer Nature, UK, ORCID

Following the completion of her master’s in neuroscience at the University of Manchester, UK, Louise commenced her PhD at Queen Mary University of London, UK, where she researched adhesion molecules and the extracellular matrix in spinal cord injury. She joined the Nature Reviews Disease Primers team in March 2016. Louise primarily handles papers on neurology, psychiatry, sleep medicine and genetic diseases.

Senior editor | Deepitha Maennich, PhD, Springer Nature, UK, ORCID

After finishing her undergraduate studies in biotechnology at PSG College of Technology, India, Deepitha received her PhD in neuroscience from Heidelberg University, Germany. Her research focused on delineating the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer-induced pain. As a postdoctoral fellow, she shifted her focus to understand the neural circuitry changes involved in the development of chronic neuropathic pain using combinations of behavioural, molecular, pharmacological, chemogenetic and imaging techniques. Deepitha joined the Nature Reviews Disease Primers team in October 2019. Deepitha primarily handles papers on gastroenterology, endocrinology, hepatology, nutrition, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and rheumatology.

Associate Editor | Rhiannon Morgan, PhD, Springer Nature, UK, ORCID

Rhiannon received both her undergraduate degree in genetics and PhD from the University of Liverpool, UK. Her PhD focused on characterising embryonic zebrafish as a suitable model for congenital myopathies. After receiving her PhD, Rhiannon continued her doctorate research in Liverpool as a post-doctoral researcher, and then as an NC3Rs Training Fellow. Her research progressed onto generating a novel embryonic zebrafish model to both study congenital myopathies and also replace the use of dogs and mice in this field of research. Rhiannon joined the Nature Reviews Disease Primers team in April 2022. Rhiannon primarily handles papers on cardiology, infectious diseases and haematology.
