The Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS), established in 1959, is a comprehensive research organization devoted to advanced inorganic nonmetallic materials study based in Shanghai, China. With a research scope covering high performance structural ceramics, special functional ceramics, synthetic crystals, special inorganic coatings, bio-medical materials as well as the approaches of the analysis and testing of the inorganic materials, SICCAS has been actively engaged in promoting technology transfer in the areas of artificial crystals, functional ceramics as well as structural ceramics.
