About the Journal
Aims & scope
We are interested in the best research from across the field of energy, with our broad scope ensuring that the work published reaches the widest possible audience.
Nature Energy is an exclusively online publication. Note that papers published online are definitive and may be altered only through the publication of an addendum, corrigendum or erratum, so authors should make every effort to ensure that the page proofs are correct.
As well as original research articles, we publish a range of content types including News & Views, Reviews, Perspectives, Comments and Features that elaborate on significant advances in the field and cover topical issues.
Editors and contact information
Like the other Nature titles, all editorial decisions at Nature Energy are made by a dedicated team of full-time professional editors, who are all PhD-level scientists. For information on their research backgrounds and scientific interests, see About the Editors.
In addition, Nature Energy has an Editorial Advisory Panel in the areas of social science, policy and economics to provide advice on these areas.
General editorial inquiries and correspondence should be addressed to the Editor, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Inquiries about the status of a manuscript should be addressed to the Editorial Assistant, at email@example.com.
To inquire about institutional access, advertising or marketing please contact the appropriate department.
Relationship to other Nature journals
Nature Energy is editorially independent; its editors make their own decisions, independent of the other Nature journals. If a paper is rejected from one Nature journal, the authors can use an automated manuscript transfer service to submit the paper to Nature Energy via a link sent to them by the editor handling the manuscript. Authors should note that referees' comments (including any confidential comments to the editor) and identities are transferred to the editor of the second journal along with the manuscript. The journal editors will take the previous reviews into account when making their decision, although in some cases the editors may choose to take advice from additional or alternative referees. Alternatively, authors may choose to request a fresh review, in which case they should not use the automated transfer link, and the editors will evaluate the paper without reference to the previous review process.
For papers that could satisfy the scope of more than one Nature journal, the choice of which journal to submit to first lies with the authors.
