Research Interviewer - Palliative Care & Rehab Med Research The Department of Palliative, Rehabilitation & Integrative Medicine focuses on the delivery of supportive care, palliative care, physical medicine, rehabilitation and integrative medicine to MD Anderson patients and support to their family members. Our department is organized into three sections. Our Symptom Control and Palliative Care Section delivers clinical care upon referral from MD Anderson faculty to any area of the hospital, and in the outpatient Supportive Care Center from Monday through Friday. This section also operates the inpatient Acute Palliative Care Unit. Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine provides medical rehabilitation consults anywhere in the hospital and operates the inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Integrative Medicine provides consults anywhere in the hospital and operates at both the Mays clinic and in it's own free standing building next to the main MD Anderson hospital. All sections have active clinical research programs funded primarily by the NIH and the American Cancer Society. Job Responsibilities Data Collection Collect patient data related to mind-body interventions. Data collection methods including face-to-face, telephone interviews and questionnaires; behavioral observation; and biological sample collection and delivery. Clean and enter data in databases and in data management programs; perform basic data management tasks. Maintain data files, questionnaires, and study supplies in an organized fashion. Abstract project data from medical charts. Participant Recruitment Patient identification through institutional database, screening patients for eligibility criteria and tracking patients/participants throughout study period for follow-up assessment (including blood and saliva and objective performance measures) mail outs and returns. Consent patients to research protocols. Other Communicate clearly with supervisors and other research staff regarding data collection and data entry and management issues, as well as other project - related tasks. Schedule research participant intervention classes with instructors. Assist in training new staff and search and retrieve research articles or documents from sources within and outside of the institution. Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Education Preferred: Bachelors degree or new graduate Experience Required: Two years of related experience. May substitute required experience with completed years of college on a one to one basis.
