for the project “Investigating long non-coding RNA regulated pathways driving cardiac regeneration”

This transnational cardiovascular research project is settled within the ERA-CVD initiative and funded by the BMBF. It will explore long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)-mediated regulatory pathways that distinguish neonatal from adult hearts. The major goal is to identify novel lncRNAs and to develop therapeutic lncRNA-based strategies to trigger cardiac regeneration after myocardial infarction in vivo in mice.

We are a highly dynamic, productive and internationally well-connected research institute with a strong focus on translational cardiology and in particular therapeutic non-coding RNA biology. We offer a dedicated research team, state-of-the-art equipment and methodology and an overall international and well-funded environment.

We are seeking, starting from June 1st at the earliest, a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with strong interest in regenerative, cardiac research and non-coding RNA biology (especially long non-coding RNAs). The main tasks will comprise mouse cardiac surgery methods, gene therapy, cardiac phenotyping as well as standard and advanced molecular biology methods. We are looking for a creative team player who is able to independently conduct research.

Preference will be given to application of candidates with experience in cardiovascular disease models; competence in working with animals (FELASA B or equivalent) is a must. Experience in bioinformatics analysis of big data sets and single cell sequencing technology is a plus.

The position is initially limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension. It is a full-time position not suitable for part-time employment. Payment will be based on personal qualifications and requirements according to the agreement of the “Tarifgemeinschaft der Länder” (TV-L).
