We have an exciting opportunity available for an Associate or Senior Editor to join our editorial team working on all aspects of the journal.

The role of the Associate/Senior Editor is busy and varied. You will work closely with the in-house journal team, and liaise directly with expert authors, requiring a proactive approach and excellent organizational skills. Key tasks include commissioning and editing reviews and writing research highlights. The successful candidate will also need to keep abreast of industry trends across a range of subject areas.

Key responsibilities:
Commission and developmentally edit review/perspective articles.
Work closely with authors throughout the writing process, including feedback on synopses (in consultation with other editors).
Develop ideas for display items in consultation with authors and art editors.
Organize and manage peer review in consultation with other editors.
Line-edit articles before acceptance.
Read through ToCs and circulate ideas for research highlights.
Write research highlights.
Contribute to content in the journal’s news and analysis section.

To be considered for the position, you will have:
Higher (graduate) degree and research experience relevant to the journal
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Broad interest in science and scientists
Attention to detail
Team player
Enthusiasm, judgement, integrity and maturity
Experience in manuscript editing and/or scientific writing is highly desirable; additional training will be provided
The position is offered on a full-time fixed-term basis, and will be located in our London office.
