Salary: Grade 6: £28,660 - £34,189 p.a.
We are seeking a Senior Research Technician to join a dynamic group investigating translational approaches to the treatment of skin disease led by Professor Graham Ogg; based at the MRC Human Immunology Unit, MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine.
The Senior Research Technicians role is primarily to support the progression of studies by performing necessary core laboratory work required to move studies forward. The work will include molecular biology, tissue culture, flow cytometry and cellular assays.
You will be expected to provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group for example new PhD students or clinicians if required, and provide a supportive role for Professor Graham Ogg by performing core activities of the lab. The post would suit an individual who wishes to consider a career as a research technician and/or laboratory manager.
To be considered for this position you should hold a relevant BSc and have laboratory management experience. You should also have experience in molecular biology (e.g. RNA preparation, qPCR, protein synthesis, genotyping, DNA cloning) and tissue culture.
This post is fixed-term for 3 years.
