Salary: Grade 8: £40,792 £48,677 p.a.
This post is an exciting opportunity for an established, highly motivated project manager to coordinate the external engagement activities of the National Cancer Imaging Translational Accelerator (NCITA). The NCITA is a £10M Cancer Research UK (CRUK) project that addresses the gaps in translation of imaging biomarkers either as tools for clinical trials or to aid clinical decision making. NCITA brings together seven of the leading cancer imaging centres (Cambridge, Imperial, ICR, KCL, Manchester, Oxford and UCL) through a network of imaging-dedicated cross-institutional infrastructure. NCITA will establish a fast and robust cross-institutional pipeline to produce quality assured locked down Imaging Biomarkers (IB): both for drug discovery within pharma clinical trials leading to more efficient development of cancer therapies; and practice changing paradigms within the NHS for areas of unmet clinical need.
The postholder will work as part of the NCITA External Engagement Group and will be line managed by the Chair of this group (Professor Geoff Higgins). You will be educated to Masters or PhD level in a scientific subject (or equivalent experience) and will possess demonstrable experience in coordinating large, multi-site projects with the ability to apply good judgement within complex environments. You will also require proven experience in budget management, report writing and presentations, along with excellent IT skills, including use of Excel and databases as well as web development. Familiarity with clinical trials and/or clinical imaging, as well as knowledge of NHS governance and University governance, management and finance systems would be advantageous for this role.
This is a full-time post, fixed-term for 3 years.
All applicants must complete a short application form, upload a CV and supporting statement.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 13 May 2019.
