Quality Control Scientist

Salary: Grade 5: £25,482 - £30,395 p.a.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated Quality Control (QC) Scientist for the Clinical BioManufacturing Facility (CBF). The CBF is part of the Jenner Institute and has a busy pipeline manufacturing and supplying novel vaccines and other Investigational Medicinal Products to clinical trials.

Reporting to the QC Manager, you will schedule, co-ordinate and carry out QC assays (e.g. immunostaining, endotoxin, PCR, pH, spectrophotometry) to ensure our products meet specification and are safe to use. You will also be responsible for equipment calibration and validation activities and general housekeeping of the QC laboratory.

You will have at least a higher level certificate or diploma in biology or biochemistry with experience in molecular biology and cell culture techniques. The CBF must adhere to strict guidelines in order to comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), therefore it is also important that you have excellent literacy and numeracy skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to follow procedures.

This post is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 31 July 2021.
