The Faculty of Sciences at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) invites applications for a
W1 Professorship for Food Safety and Food Quality (Assistant Professor)
at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy. The professorship is to be filled by the earliest possible starting date for an initial period of three years. Upon successful evaluation, the appointment will be extended for another three years.
We seek to appoint a top early career scientist who will develop outstanding expertise in the field. The preferred research focus area is in modern food chemistry related to food safety and quality on the molecular level and should complement the current research areas at the Henriette Schmidt-Burkhardt Chair of Food Chemistry. The use of synergies with groups from food chemistry and pharmacy is desired. We encourage active participation in current and future interdisciplinary research initiatives within FAU, and in particular within the department. The professor is expected to participate in teaching in the food chemistry programme and possibly also in pharmacy and other interdisciplinary programmes.
