Salary: Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a.

We seek a highly motivated individual for the role of Postdoctoral Researcher within the Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery Program of the Rastinejad group at the NDM Research Building in Oxford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out their own research and selecting chemical libraries, developing workflows for high-throughput screening using biochemical and/or cell based assays, and employing chemoinformatics and in-silico platforms for structure-based drug discovery. In addition, you will also carry out data analysis and report results to the supervisor and team members and general laboratory management that includes interfacing with laboratory safety and other laboratory managers.

You will also collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles publishing results in peer-reviewed journals and develop and apply advanced chemoinformatics and other computational approaches as well as contributing to hit-to-lead development synthetic chemistry plans.

You must hold or be close to completion of a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, or related area and also have an active interest in undertaking and supporting scientific research. You will adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols and the ability to communicate results clearly and effectively within the work environment. You will also have prior experience with multiple drug-discovery methodologies and in computational approaches in-silico drug-discovery.

This full-time position is fixed term until 30 April 2022 with the possibility of extension.
