Oxford, South East England, United Kingdom

Salary: Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist with experience in structural biology of metabolic enzymes, to drive our glycogen research programme (Bilyard et al 2018 Nature, Froese et al 2015 Hum Mol Genet, Chaikuad et al 2011 PNAS) led by Associate Professor Wyatt Yue at SGC University of Oxford.

In collaboration with our industry partners at the Pfizer Rare Disease Research Unit, we will employ state-of-the-art structural and biophysical methods at the SGC lab, to study the molecular catalytic mechanisms of glycogen biosynthesis, with the objective of identifying novel therapeutics for associated rare genetic disorders.

You will hold a PhD or equivalent in protein biochemistry and structural biology, have experience in recombinant expression, biophysical characterisation, and structure determination (X-ray crystallography/cryo-electron microscopy) of protein-protein complexes, and be a strong team player cherishing the opportunities to interact closely with drug discovery scientists at Pfizer.
