Salary: Grade 8: £40,792 - £48,677 p.a.

The Project Manager for Molecular Diagnostics in Oncology will oversee translational research programmes and projects administered as part of the Cancer Research UK Oxford Centre. This is a challenging role to support the development and delivery of key strategic projects; developing, improving and implementing policy; committee servicing; and both written and oral communication; all with the aim of translating novel diagnostic platforms from the Oxford Centre, into standard service provision within the Oxford University Hospitals Trust.


This will require working with key academic and clinical leaders in the governance structure of the translational research programmes and projects administered by the Department of Oncology, Molecular Diagnostics Centre, the Genomics Medicine Centre and the Precision Cancer Medicine Institute, delivering the operational activities linked to the research objectives of each, and to help develop and sustain future research programmes. The role requires wide-ranging project management for a number of both new and existing projects and funding streams.


You will need to have a higher degree level in a biological subject, or equivalent experience. Demonstrable experience of project management ideally within an academic environment, managing projects and funding within the context of a scientific/clinical research facility. Experience in budget management, report writing and presentations at local and national level is also essential, together with excellent IT skills, including advanced use of Excel and databases as well as web development.


This is a full-time post, fixed-term until 31 March 2021.
