Applications are invited for the position of Sequencing Service Team Leader. This new full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis.

About the role

Since 2009, the University of Exeter’s ‘next-generation’ DNA sequencing facilities (http://sequencing.exeter.ac.uk/) have been providing services to researchers and clinicians across the Exeter scientific community and beyond as well as driving innovation in novel applications of genomics technology.

About you

We are now seeking an academic to provide leadership and management of the facility. The appointee will also have the opportunity to develop an internationally competitive program of research and innovation in applications of sequencing, exploiting synergies between the available cutting-edge facilities and wide range of potential collaborators in Biosciences, the Exeter Medical School and beyond. Expertise in sequencing-related bioinformatics and computational biology would be a distinct advantage.

The focus of this post is on leading, developing and managing the sequencing facility and therefore does not include the undergraduate teaching duties that would typically be associated with a Senior Research Fellow position.
