What expects you
Postdoc positions are available in the Institute for Molecular and Cellular Cognition (IMCC, director: Prof. Dietmar Kuhl) at the Center for Molecular Neurobiology (ZMNH) of the UKE. In the IMCC we use a multidisciplinary approach to investigate the mechanisms of learning and memory in the developing and adult mammalian brain. We combine methods in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetic engineering, behavior analysis, in-vitro and in-vivo electrophysiology and brain imaging to investigate learning and memory on multiple levels encompassing synapses, cells, neural networks and organisms.

The positions are funded by an extramural grant and are guaranteed for one year with a possible prolongation of additional two years.

  • Planning and performing an exciting research project

What we look forward to

  • PhD or equivalent in biology, biochemistry, physics or other fields of natural sciences
  • Ideally expertise in at least one of the following techniques: in vivo electrophysiology (LFP, single or multi-unit recordings), in vivo imaging (confocal, two photon, head-mounted endoscope), animal behavior or molecular biology/biochemistry
  • excellent English skills, both written and spoken
  • Independence and creativity, ability to work in a team
  • Motivation and enthusiasm
