Applicants with outstanding research accomplishments in basic cancer research and/or translational oncology are invited to apply for tenure-­‐track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor or Full-Professor positions in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Joint Program in Cancer Biology at Brown University. Brown University, the Warren Alpert Medical School, and the 7 affiliated hospitals are building unified translational oncology programs ranging from identifying risk and prevention to basic biology research, molecular diagnostics, biomarkers and innovative therapeutics with transdisciplinary collaboration across institutions.

Appointments to the faculty at Brown University and the Warren Alpert Medical School at the senior level require a successful track record of peer-­‐reviewed funding and national stature. Strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and advising is expected. Applicants must have an M.D., Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree and postdoctoral research experience along with accomplishments commensurate with the faculty rank. Candidates may have a secondary appointment in an appropriate basic science or clinical department.  Applicants should be physician-­‐scientists or scientists focused in cancer biology or disease-­‐specific oncology including basic biology and therapeutics research, tumor immunology, cancer genetics, metastasis, stem cells, DNA repair, tumor microenvironment including single cell technologies and complete such studies involving human and/or animal models including lower organisms. The successful candidate will participate in undergraduate, graduate and/or medical student teaching and mentoring including education of Pathology residents and fellows in cancer biology, hematology-oncology, surgical oncology, pediatric oncology and radiation oncology including providing laboratory experience. Research space will be provided in a newly-­‐renovated laboratory with modern core facilities for molecular pathology and histology, high content imaging, genomics and proteomics, flow cytometry, analytical chemistry, nanotechnology, and access to Human Tissue Banks. Competitive and generous start-up packages are being offered. Applicants will collaborate with scientists in multiple departments and clinical scientists and clinicians in the Department of Pathology, Hematology-Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pediatric Oncology and Surgical Oncology and applicants with funded programs or strong evidence of funding potential will be given the highest priority. Opportunities for collaborative, interdisciplinary research and participation as a mentor in T32 Training Programs are envisioned. Participation in collaborative translational oncology and cancer biology and therapeutics efforts is desirable as is a willingness to participate in or drive multi-investigator grants.
