At the Faculty of Medicine of Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, a permanent
W2 professorship for Pathology
is to be filled at the Institute for Pathology (Director: Prof. Dr. med. Glen Kristiansen).
The applicant should be internationally recognized in the field of translational tumor research and tissue-based oncology. Extensive scientific experience of these topics over many years is expected. Broad diagnostic expertise in clinical pathology as well as experience in teaching, successful third-party fundraising and a high willingness to cooperate are required. A reference-pathological activity would be desirable.
The establishment and appointment of the professorship is intended to strengthen research and teaching in pathology as well as the research focuses of the Faculty of Medicine (www.ukb.uni-bonn.de/forschung). In particular a willingness to cooperate in joint initiatives in the field of oncological research is expected.
The prerequisites for employment are specialist certification in pathology as well as a habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements pursuant to Section 36 Higher Education Act NRW. The professorship includes participation in patient care as part of pathological diagnostics.
