We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary summer position, working in the Information Technology department at our Headquarters in Chevy Chase, Maryland. This role requires full-time hours and is a temporary position for the summer 2019 (approximately May to August).

 

Responsibilities


We are looking for summer help to join us on an 8-10 week assignment where they will help us add automated testing to existing web applications. We believe these projects will provide a fantastic opportunity for a developing Computer Science student to gain real insight to both large and small-scale website development, and best-practices for test writing and automation.


Reporting to the Manager of Web Application Development, the temp will learn that website development requires more than just technical skills, as collaboration between multiple business departments, and other members of IT are required to successfully execute these projects. They will also be able to further their technical skills in HTML, CSS, and Javascript by working on small sections of these websites. This position will provide valuable exposure to team interaction, agile development process, source control, and deployment workflows when building software applications in an enterprise environment.

Qualifications


Education:

  • Undergraduate/graduate student pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information technology.
  • Previous experience or coursework relating to Javascript technologies, such as NodeJS, Angular, or React.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience writing: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or Fireworks, Microsoft Office, UNIX command line, Git, and SSH/FTP is preferred.
